Jessica Wehrman started at CQ Roll Call in 2019 after two decades as a regional reporter covering Washington, D.C. for papers in Ohio, Texas, Indiana, and New Mexico, also covering national education and homeland security beats for Scripps Howard News Service. After serving as a transportation policy reporter for CQ Roll Call, she became health editor in 2022 and became a managing editor in 2025. She is a native of Ohio and a proud graduate of Ohio University.
Peter Cohn
Managing Editor, Policy and Legislation
Peter Cohn has covered Washington policy fights in and out of journalism for the past 25 years, starting as a reporter at CQ Roll Call at the end of the Clinton administration, covering transportation, financial services, and telecommunications policy. Pete later covered federal budget, appropriations, tax, and trade policy for National Journal before a detour into investment research and consulting. Pete returned to CQ Roll Call in 2017 as budget and fiscal policy editor just in time for the biggest tax code overhaul in three decades. Since then, he’s steered coverage of the major legislative battles, including 2025’s budget reconciliation package and government shutdown.
